Mission
Our club's mission is to bring to Pepperdine the life skills gained from rock climbing, with a focus on the comradery of a group of climbers, the great responsibility necessary for success, appreciation of creation through sustainable living, and overcoming challenges in an activity that embodies fitness, problem solving, and perseverance.

Rock climbing is an extremely unique activity in its intricacies, so our club will teach the supreme importance of safety and conduct activities only under an experienced eye. With safety being our first priority, this complex sport will expose our members to opportunities of great personal, communal, and spiritual growth through overcoming physical and mental obstacles, trusting and encouraging others, and intimacy with God's nature.

Hey ya'll 🤙!! The Pepperdine Surf and Recreation Club is for anybody who wants to surf– from people who've never touched a board to people who rip 🏄‍♀️!! We like to throw a couple "Surf Sessions" every semester, where a lot of members come to surf, hang out, and enjoy the beach 🌊. Our club is also a great way to make friends and meet people who are also interested in surfing/learning how to surf. We would love to have you as a member in our community!! Waves of Silence's purpose is to share across all religions and denominations the wonderful practice of meditation in order to live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. By creating an accepting environment, members will strive to harness the power of quieting the mind, achieving a state of inner peace. This club offers group meditations, yoga, and all sorts of mindfulness activities to ground members in the present moment. 

All waves are welcome!

Waves of Silence's strengths going into the 2022-2023 school year are being an
open and accepting environment for all forms of meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and prayer. The club atmosphere will be extremely supportive and positive no matter where people are on their spiritual journey. The meditation club strives to lift members up and celebrate wherever we are physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our organization's opportunities going into the 2022-2023 school year are simply being an open community that accepts anyone curious about the practice of sitting quietly and letting the mind slow down. Before meditating and doing yoga, the club will participate in an activity to get the mind ready to be in the moment. This could include spiritual readings, open discussion, sharing experiences, breathing exercises, watching videos, or simply being together and enjoying each other's company. The club will be going on retreats to temples and meditation centers in the LA/Malibu area and we will invite speakers to share their experiences with meditation and the wonders of obtaining a silent mind.
